Do employers care if you use AI? What 213 application forms actually ask
We read the application forms of 213 employers from their own public job boards and pulled out every question about AI. 39 of them ask how you use AI in your work. 5 set rules about using it in the application itself. On these forms, asking about AI is about 8 times as common as restricting it.
39 employers ask how you use AI

What was not counted
100 more questions mention AI but say nothing about how an application is judged: questions where AI is the job itself ("experience building LLM-powered systems", "selling data and AI products"), and ones where it only appears in the employer's name. They are left out of every figure above. Each question was sorted by fixed rules, checked against a hand-labelled set of every AI question in the corpus, and the wording is printed above so the sorting can be checked.
What this page does not tell you
It does not tell you what to answer, or whether to use AI on an application. That depends on the role and on you, and a job board is no guide to either.
Nor does it say whether anyone checks. Whether an employer tests applications for AI, or what happens to one that used it, is not published by any of these job boards. We cannot see it, and nothing here should be read as saying either way.
